the only one i know of is Prospect Cemetery, not New Prospect, which is located on route F just outside of Canton, and is across from my parents for which we care for. There are no Billups located in this cemetery

I have a friendship quilt made by "Ladies' Aid, October 16, 1935, met with Mae Phipps". Is there any interest in displaying the quilt in the museum?

Mystery of Origin of Birth Place & Route of the Ancestor of The John Lewis Family:

Facts: There were 4 Lewis-Brothers via Scotland as follows-John-Joseph-Thomas-Edwward; and, see chart of Jessie Easton, b 1805-Scotland and spouse, John Lewis, b March-1799 PQ.

Note: The Ancestors of Jessie Easton/John Lewis Family-Tree/Trunk/Branches/Twigs are not completed. However, there are detailed-connections to Doctor Louis Hebert, the first doctor-pharm, PQ-Province of Quebec, Canada-1610 via The Forestell/Hebert Family Tree.

Some American Families reached the Bay of Quinte - Bellwood-Picton-Kingston, Ontario by 1816 via The USA; and, The Maritimes; and, the Province of Quebec to Ontario.

My father - Bernie Forestell, b 1910 was very fond of the Lewis Families with some of their stories from the States; and, his Grandmother - Mary Matilda Lewis, b Oct 23-1830 - Hungerford Township-Hastings County, Ontario who married James Tobias Forestell at Madoc, Ontario.
Best of wishes for the veterans of families who are celebrating 200 years of peace in June from 1812-2012 across Canada & USA; as well as one of the oldest Sates of Kentucky/Missouri with a heritage of 385 years ... 1627-2012. Take Note - We Will All Become Ancestors!!
Keep up the good work!! Lisa

My husband and I enjoy going to the Terrible's Casino in Missouri with our friends! Lately I've noticed that they keep replacing machines with machines that minimum bets are going up and up. Some are as high as $1.00 just for the minimum bet. I've noticed a decline in attendance and in hearing about winners over the intercom! If the minimum bets keep going up people are going to quit attending and it will take away much enjoyment for many people. I've heard many complaints from other patrons while playing, so it isn't just me and my husband and friends. The attendance on New Year's Eve was up, but still didn't seem as high as previous years and we didn't hear of any big winners the whole evening! We were there from 6:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on New Year's day! It is so unusual to not hear of at least one winner in all that time!

My gggrandfather, Sherrod Solomon, was b in Tenn in 1815. He married Sarah Robison, b 1824 (who was from either Ill. or Ky) in 1843 in Lewis Co., Mo. I'm at a loss - I don't know Sarah's parents' names; I can't find Sarah in the 1840's Ill., or Lewis Co. census. I haven't been able to
figure out how Sherrod got from Tenn to meet Sarah in Ill, then to marry in Lewis Co. If you can, would you please help me get some direction in how I might find them. Wherever I'm looking has not paid off and I don't know where to turn next.

Thank you so much!

I am looking for my great aunt who lived in St. Joseph, MO from about 1871-1920. She lived at 2117 So. 10th St. and there had a business Watson Brown at the same address. In 1900, she was widowed and lived at the same address working as a seamstress. Then in 1910, she is shown working as a proprietor for a rooming house at N. 9th St. I am looking for any and all information that I can find on her to piece together my gr-grandfather's background and family. I would like to know who her husband was, when they were married, when he died, when she died, where they are buried, how to get a death certificate. I noted in a federal census she had 3 children with one living in 1900, and would like to know about any of her children. Can you please direct me to where I might find this information. I am living in Arizona so would need to have someone look the information up for me and am willing to pay for that service if necessary or send a donation, whichever is appropriate. Thanking you in advance for any information you can provide me.

They are protected by Federal Legislation signed by President Clinton and brought about by Senator Bond. The Missouri Horse League is by definition of the legislation, charged with managing this herd.

The story of the herd's preservation is a wonderful one. I have received a copy of the legislation from Senator Bond's office in Cape Girardeau. Also the Emminence, MO website has information about this herd.

I haven't been able to contact the Missouri Wild Horse League though I have tried many times. They don't call me back and they don't answer the phone. This may not be a problem, just what I have experienced. Many in the Emminence area cherish this herd and are eager to share their stories and knowledge of the herd.

My former husband worked for Bill. I was told his wife (I believe the name was Billie), lived in a famous hotel in St. Louis. I was also told she was the portrait on a famous soap. Does anyone know if this info is for real and when did Billie die? Did Bill have any children. I was also told some Anheuser's loaned Walt Disney money and just look at his success. Just interested. The Anheuser family are amazing people and I love reading about their history. Jud

am looking for any information about one Samuel Guy Ludington. He had a brother, Carl and a sister, Jane. Their parents died when the children were young and Carl and Jane were both adopted out, however, Samuel Guy was on his own. Know they had relatives of some sort in the St. Joe area, but other than that, have no information.

hi, I just cant believe how assemby of God changed, I went to on in ill. and had to ask if this was a assembly of God.
St. Louis Fire Fighter Museum near Cass AVe. is a real gem to visit with kids during their summer break. We've gone there several times and are entertained not only by the exhibits but also by the fire fighters there. Nice folks!

The Denver Pub. Library has a book, Buchanan County Missouri Landowners 1895, by Northwest Missouri Gen. Society in St. Joseph. Can you tell me what John Rohan (and his wife Carry) owned then? Thank you very much.

Dear Sir:

I am still looking for some family history on Christopher and Bridget Bracken who lived at Lewistown, Lewis Co. Missoursi. My mother, Mary Elva Wamsley Kane's mother was Mary Jane Bracken who her parents were Christopher and Bridget Bracken. I think the historical society would have some data on this family but I am so far away. Any help? I need Bridget's maiden name to seek some data also. But any help would be welcome.
 Yours truly,
 Mary Durley

Looking for a picture of Mr. Busch and my grandfather John McMillan taken in front of a brewery where my grandfather had just unloaded two Clydesdales and two Perchons. My grandfather was a stockman/horse dealer. My uncle remembers the picture when he was growing up seeing the picture on the living room wall. Do you know if there is any knowledge of this? It would have been at the time the Clydesdales were presented to Mr. Busch.

My GGrandfather, John H.B.Renfro enlisted Co. C, 48th Ill Inf. wounded battle of Shiloh - evacuated to St.Louis military hospital - Jefferson Bks? - minnie ball lung caused recovery problems - was taken to the the home of a St. Louis family named "Eagle" where he recuperated. To honor the Eagle family, my grandfather was named Robert EAGLE Renfro. He had a diamond ring made (by one of the oldest jewelers in St. Louis) which he wore until his death - my father Donald M. Renfro wore it until his death, and now at 87 years of age, I wear it. My son gets it next. John Henry Benton Renfro life span was 1842 - 1908. If this is or interest to anyone, I'd appreciate a reply! Would be interesting to know name of jeweler, and if they still exist. Would like to probe their records. I figure the ring was made in 1900, give or take a few years. There' a little more info - in case anyone cares!

I am searching for info on a church I believe was called the New Prophet Church. I recently found a death record for one of my Grandmothers who died near Williamstown, Missouri. It shows she was buried at what looks like New Prophet Church. The death record is for Poline Billups also known as Pauline/Paulina Billups wife of Robert H. Billups, she died in 1885. Can anyone tell me where this Cemetery might be located? Findagrave.com has no record of a cemetery by this name. Could it be another name for Zion Hill Cemetery. When I google New Prophet Church I get entries for the Morman Church. Any help would be appreciated.

Now what I want is a Heritage softail classic and I've looked them over and that's what I want . Now my problem is that I don't want to be sorry I didn't wait for the 2012 line thinking there may be a change that I would like more.

I was poking around and found this article on the Englewood Art Walk. I am pleased to see such wonderful detail in the article regarding the different venues. Thank you for taking the time to truly describe the galleries and their differences without writing a three page essay about each gallery. Some articles that mention the 3rd Friday Art Walk are very vague and do not offer a breakdown of what you can expect.

There have been some new additions and some shops that joined the art movement. There is a new bakery that shows artwork and the Tanning salon has been renovated and is taking part by hanging artwork. In May there were around 12 printmaking students from the Kansas City Art Institute presenting their work at the Boxcar Gallery, which is located where Changing Seasons was before it was relocated up the block. Stonebridge Coffeehouse has had its name changed and is under new ownership but still chugging along with the same great atmosphere of music, art, and quite a bit more food selection. Unfortunately, West End Gallery had to close their doors but some of the artists were absorbed into other galleries.

There is a bistro in the works at the building that was formally Sermon & Anderson interior design. Last but not least, the city has been working on a sidewalk renovation project that could enhance the functionality and aesthetics without drastically altering the historic feel of this block. I am especially eager to see this project come to fruition, since I live six houses down from Winner Rd. on Harvard.

We are starting to see and meet people from some interesting places. I attribute this to word of mouth and to website posts like this one. I look forward to the changes and I really feel this will be an attraction for Independence to not only locals but to those who visit from all over. I believe I speak for the majority of artists in this community when I say we appreciate your kind words.

Sincerely,

Michael Taylor

1) If the grave marker of my Great Great Grandfather--James Gorrall Blair--is still visible in the Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, MO. I can write to the cemetery address if you like, but I am trying to speed up the process if there is someone you can contact there and let me know.
2) If the "Old Blair Home" in Monticello, MO, is still standing. My Great Grandfather, Charles Edgar Blair, described it as a nine-room brick home sitting on 10 acres of land in the south part of Monticello. The yard made up three of the ten acres. I have been unable to locate any contact info. thus far in the town of Monticello, so I am looking to you for help.
Thank you for your assistance. I am doing a Blair family geneology project and am considering a trip to your area to take photo's and do research.
Sincerely,
Giles Allen Blair III.

Hi! I am trying to find out if the grave of my Great Great Grandfather, James Gorrall Blair, buried in the Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, is still visible. I am also trying to find out if the "Old Blair Home" in Monticello, MO still exists. My Great Grandfather Charles Edgar Blair described it as 9-room brick house situated in the south part of Monticello on 10 acres of land, 3 of which were in the yard. If either the grave of James Gorrall Blair or the "Old Blair Home" in Monticello were still there and visible, I would consider making a trip there to get photos of either or both. I am doing a family geneology project and would appreciate any and all help you can give me on the above info. If I make the trip, I would also likely stop and do research at your Lewis County Historical Society facilities.
Thanks a million, and I look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
Giles A. Blair III

A distant relative of mine was supposed to have founded Stoutsville, and named it after the man who fostered him as a young boy in Kentucky. The young man moved on to Missouri, where he built a shoe factory, made a lot of money (which his sons subsequently lost) and founded the town. I don't know his name, or where he came from in Kentucky. I would be interested in finding out these things.

I am looking for information of the LaBelle teachers school/college in the late 1800's or early 1900's. My grandmother attended there and taught before her marriage. Any help will be appreciated.

I am searching for information on George W Martin who married my granndmother, Margaret Hunsucker in 1895 in Dekalb Co, Mo. I have the marriage certificate but the only info on there concerning him is that he was from Gentry county. I know nothing else about him or where he went as he is not on the 1900 census with his family - wife, two daughters, and a son. Does anyone have any info on this?

Also am trying to find burial site for John and Nancy Hunsucker that lived in Buchanan Co. First found them in the 1850 census in Tremont Tnsp and the last census for them is 1860 in Platte River ,Platte Tnshp. Any ideas where I might look? They would be my ggg grandparants.

Hope to back there in vicinity this summer.

I am researching a Garnett Grange Quilt with the dates 1873-1926 for the International Quilt Study Center and Museum in Lincoln, NE. I am looking for any little tidbits on the history of the Garnett Grange or someone who might be able to give me a few answers. I know it was west of Monticello near the Middle Faubian River but that is about all. The quilt was obviously a fund-raiser for the Grange. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Hello,
I am writing for any information you may have on the BLACKBURN family, located in Township 61 from the 1870 census. They had the Monticello post office. Listed as head of household was John Blackburn or J Blackburn.
Any information would be extremely helpful! Thanks so much!

I would love to attend this event, however, the only weekend is Easter, and I have family coming for a visit. I hope whoever plans it next year, does not pick Easter weekend? Being a Missouri artist, I like to participate in local events. So, I'll get this on my calendar for next year.

I hope you have a great turn out of artists and spectators,
Donald

Her parents were William and Elizabeth (Lizzi) Stewart. Ida does not show up in the 1910 census and no one in her family recall what happened to her. She may have been born in NE.

The parents , Christopher and Bridget Bracken I would like to find out some family data on since they are my relatives. My mother, Mary Elva Wamsley's mother was Mary Jane Bracken the daughter of Christopher and Bridget Bracken but they lived in Lewistown, Missouri then. When the Brackens lived in St. Louis Missouri they had moved from Lewistown and we never learned of it until years later. So have been looking for the deaths of Christopher and Bridget. Can you help me locate the deaths or where they are buried and what cemetery? I thought maybe a library would have some data on the family living in Lewistown or St. Louis. Do you know a way to seek help on this? Thank you so much.
