Bethel Chapel A.M.E. Church was found in 1883 to serve the African-American population of Louisiana, Missouri. The current church was built in 1884 using native hand-pressed brick. The church continues to serve as a A.M.E. Church.
The church is the last remaining social organizations for African-Americans in Louisiana.
This simple church was completed in 1884 and is still in use. It is listed on the National Historic Register.
