Louisiana Public Library - Louisiana, Missouri
Louisiana’s first and only public library is among the first ten Carnegie Libraries in the State of Missouri. Built in 1904.
The library is a late Gothic Revial style building, one story with a full, partially above ground basement.
With a $10,000 pledge from Andrew Caregie to be matched by the local citizens, the building construction began in 1904, was completed in 1905 and has functioned as a library ever since.
This is one of the first library buildings that Andrew Carnegie helped to fund in Missouri.
