Gasconade County Fair – Owensville, Missouri

Gasconade County Fair.jpgGasconade County Fair – Owensville, Missouri The fair is held the last full week of July. This large county fair is what rural fairs are all about, 4-H, entertainment and carnival rides.

On Wednesday the “Little Mr. & Miss. Gasconade County” contest and the “Miss Gasconade County Fair” contest are held. The parade is always held on Thursday evening at 5:30 PM, and the route is North on First Street to Memorial Park.

If you are looking for those opportunities to enjoy a real county fair you will want to go to Owensville the last week in July. Stroll through the displays of the 4 H members, visit the livestock barns to see all the well groomed, healthy entries by the participants. The livestock barns show beef and dairy cattle, swine, sheep, goats, and rabbits. The Livestock/Ham Sale is held on Saturday beginning at 3:00PM.

When you are done looking at all the displays enjoy the carnival rides. It’s an opportunity to have your kids do something they will talk about for years. Go on a ride with them, laugh, scream and just enjoy the experience of time with your family.

The entertainment is different evey year so you will be able to go back year after year and see something new. Tractor pulls and a Demolition Derby is also held during the 4-day fair.
