Annual Harvest Festival – Augusta, Missouri
Each fall in mid September, Augusta celebrates the Harvest season with a Friday night concert and picnic in the vineyards along with a fun filled Saturday when most Augusta businesses have special events. These events are sponsored by the Augusta Chamber of Commerce.
On Friday the annual Concert & Picnic in the Vineyard will be the Official kick-off of Augusta’s “Harvest Season”. Around 5pm, you will arrive in Augusta. Board a pumpkin wagon and take a trip down a country lane to the Hoeft Vineyards nestled on the bluffs of the Missouri River Valley. Once there, sample wines in a 130 year old vaulted wine cellar built in the hillsides of Augusta. Next you will choose your gourmet picnic basket filled with a variety of goodies, accoutrements and wine and then picnic in the vineyards enjoying live music.
On Saturday September 18, 2010 come enjoy the day and celebrate the Harvest season in Augusta by visiting our many businesses that will have special events happening on this day. A free shuttle will be running throughout town to help you see and participate in all the exciting things to do.
Events will include:
Wineries holding wine seminars comparing various wines, pair food with the wines, and will discussions about Augusta’s rich wine History. Wineries will be celebrating the Harvest Festival with discounts on food, wines, specials on wines and live music in the afternoon and evening. Augusta Brewing Company will release seasonal beers, specials running during lunch and dinner, and live music.
Visit Oaks Crossing to enjoy its New Orleans style courtyard adjacent to its 1905 vintage Coffee House. Special things will be happening that day. Halcyon Therapeutic Massage will have an open house with special savings available.
