Amish Country Bus Tours, Ph: 660-684-6080. A 1-hour, 45 minute ride through the Amish settlement surrounding Jamesport, including three 15-minute stops at stores located on Amish farms and operated by Amish people. The tours are not offered on Thursdays or Sundays since the Amish always close their shops and stores on these two days of the week. A "step on guide service" offered for larger buses. Arrangements can be made for a Mennonite meal served family style at The Gingerich Dutch Pantry Restaurant.

The two flea markets held each year in Jamesport are Mothers Day weekend in May and the last full weekend in July. The 3-day flea market in May has been an annual event since 1986. There are 50 to 60 vendors that set up outside booths to sell their wares. The July flea market is smaller in size due to the heat and the retirement of some of the older vendors. It runs in conjunction with the Junior Livestock Show and fair.
The annual Jamesport Amish Community Quilt Auction is held each year on the 2nd Saturday of October. The auction is held in the A.V. Spillman Theater building, located one block south of downtown. The building is open a few hours before the auction so buyers may view the quilts. There is seating for over 100 and fills up quickly with standing room only.
Come for the three major craft shows held annually at Jamesport: May Days Festival, held the Saturday of Mothers Day weekend; Heritage Day Festival, held the 4th Saturday in September; and the "Step Back In Time Christmas Festival" Craft Show and Cookie Walk, held the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Jamesport is a unique village to visit. It offers the opportunity to witness the Amish "up close and personal" and also see how the English (non-Amish people) cohabitate.

I have forwarded your request on to the people in Jamesport and requested they contact you directly. Enjoy your trip, it’s a great place to visit!!
I’d like to make a trip to the area in July and I understand that there are several outlaying businesses surrounding Jamesport. Is there a map/brochure available that specifically lists sites of interest outside of the town? Can any of these things be mailed?
I can’t tell when the message before mine was posted… but when I visited Jamesport I just went to the Chamber of Commerce building on the main street and they had plenty of maps of both English and Amish places to go to.

Several years ago, I used to get slag firewood for free from an Amish or Mennonite sawmill in northern Missouri. Can anyone give me some help finding this place again?
