Toonfest - Walt Disney Celebration - Marceline, Missouri

disney.jpgToonfest - Walt Disney Celebration - Marceline, Missouri

In the hometown where Walt Disney lived from 1906 until 1911 is a fabulous celebration of internationally acclaimed cartoonists that come to join in on Walt Disney’s Hometown Toonfest.    Each year there is a theme for the weekend and games and events for those that attend.

The park fills up in September when all the those that are fans of Disney’s work or those that aspire to become as well known as he was gather together in celebration.

During his lifetime, Walt Disney would come back to Marceline for a couple of different reasons, one of which was to touch base with what was real, to renew himself in this delightful town, the other was to research its locale and lifestyle for his films.

The Toonfest has a Princess Tea Party for the little girls between 3 and 8 years old, this is always a big hit with the little ladies.  The boys have the chance to play pirates with the Yellow Creek Pirates adventure.  All of this is for the fun and enjoyment of the community and the visitors.  Join them for a wonderful weekend in September!
