America’s Presidency Museum - Branson, MO

's Presidency Museum.jpgYes, Branson, Missouri has the America’s Presidency Museum which is a culmination of several private collections into one unique display of America’s Presidency from George Washington through today. Feel the emotions of the Founding Fathers, feel the intensity of the Civil War years. You can stand in the Oval Office, and learn about contributions of dozens of our Presidents through the years. Hundreds of authentic collectibles, photos and more make up this unique gallery.

History

A private collection and attraction in Branson until 2006, the collection has been purchased and is under the ownership now of the National Center for Presidential Studies where it will continue to grow and serve as an educational resource for all who visit. The new location for the museum (temporarily until funding is raised for a new building) is located on the top floor of the Majestic Building, located at the corner of Gretna Road and Roark Valley Road, in the same building houses the Majestic Steak House and Justin Flom’s Magic Parlor Theater.

Programs

History Hunts are available daily for all visiting school age youth. Home School/Family Days are offered monthly and themed with activities for the day. Guided tours are available by appointment. The museum also offers guest lecturers, special video screenings, and a non-lending library.

Other events include quarterly Manners with Martha Washington, a Tea for young people.

Sit in the Oval Office, where you can issue your own Executive orders, learn about the Presidential Seal, take the Oath of Office and more about this center of activity in the West Wing - the President’s work space.

Tour the Hall of First Ladies, filled with First Lady memorbilia from Grace Coolidge through Laura Bush, you’ll learn about the early duties and the locations of the offices of earlier First Ladies through today. See how they are the most trusted advisor to the President.

Experience a journey through our nation’s path to freedom as you view the Freedom Shrine, a collection of 28 of our nation’s most powerful documents in history that have paved the path to the Freedoms we enjoy. Displayed are photographs of the actual document including the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence, WWII Articles of Surrender, Roosevelt’s Four Freedoms Speech and many more.

Christmas at the White House - this museum wide seasonal exhibit is a must see. November 1 - December 31. Dozens of First Lady themed trees, White House Christmas Cards, and so much more.
